Three Legged Buffalo Nickel

I found my three legged  Buffalo Nickel's when I was very young.  I don't remember just how old I was but it seems like it would have been some where in the late fifty's or very early sixty's. I remember mom having a quart jar full of buffalo nickels.  One day someone showed her what a 3 legged buffalo nickel looked like.  We slowly sorted thru that quart jar and we found 3 of the three legged nickels.  They have been in my possession ever since.  Some time in the mid 70's I sold the worst looking of the 3.  I still have the other 2 and watch with great interest as the price paid for them keeps increasing.  I am willing to sell them if the price is right.

I am not actively trying to sell them although, I would always be open to an offer. I have watched the price paid for these in the late 60's go from $125.00 for an above average specimen to over $2000.00 in 2004.

I am sure that it won't be long and it will go up more.

Last year there was one on eBay which went for over $1800.00. I downloaded the pictures and compared that coin to both of mine. I am not an expert in grading but even my untrained eye could see that both my coins had as much detail and no more wear than that one.

I guess I should send them off to be professionally graded and encapsulated but I'm just not that anxious to part with them.

One day some prospective buyer will convince me to sell them.

I will not respond to any email request that ask's "How much are you selling the 3 legged nickels for?" If you know what your looking at then you know what they are worth to you.  If you seriously want one or both,  then make me an offer.
