We didn't get that many pictures of the damage that was done at the time. We were in a daze. The reality of it all took a little while to reach out and smack us up side the head. We didn't really have time for pictures as we had lots of work that had to be done right away. Besides, the camera was buried under ceiling drywall and we weren't real sure just where to look for it. I was more concerned with getting the house dry ASAP!
| The Morning After | The pump house from the house next door that
Charley got. We used this after Charley to put the generator in to muffle
the noise. After Charley we were without power for over a week. This time
the power was back on the next day. But, for some reason our area was the
only one for miles around that had power. Of course, what good is power when
you have a house that is unlivable.

| The new wood on the wall behind the ladder is where we framed in the hole from the window that was broken out during the 1st hurricane. | I wasn't even finished installing the new garage door that Charlie took out but fortunately the new one was not damaged. |
| Parked one of the trucks in the garage to protect it from the storm. | I'm not sure but it might have had less damage if we had left it outside. | The insulation is sagging from all the water still trapped in it. | ||
| Since we have plywood sub floors I didn't wait on any insurance adjuster to show up. Ripped out all the carpet and padding. I also was not about to make a futile attempt at drying the carpet as I heard a lot of insurance companies were saying had to be done. The hell with them, out it went. | Every room in the house had the ceilings collapse. The walls filled up with water. Harriet said she saw water flowing out of the outlet covers. I believe her!! |
